The Ars Musica Day is a cultural event in the St. Janskerk in Gouda.
Two years ago this day was a great success, and a new tradition has started! This event consists of several parts: an opening concert, an educational performance, a musical workshop for children, workshops for teenagers and adults, a cantata vespers, a food market and an evening concert. All ensembles of the Ars Musica Foundation are participating in this special day for young and old. Everybody is welcome!
Planned activities:
Morning
program 1. Organ masterclass: Gerben Budding acts as master.
Participants play the Moreau organ, with the theme of this master class being “Music around JS Bach” (Bach and contemporaries, sons, pupils, etc.). There is room for organists to actively develop themselves or as a host to listen in. Time: 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM

5. Song class.
Under the direction of Astrid Krause and Margreet Rietveld, singers work individually or in groups on performance, timbre, text comprehension and intonation. 6. Educational children's performance for children aged 4-8 from 3-4 pm.
7. Cantatavespers including cantata 147 (Herz und Mund und Tat und Leben) by Johann Sebastian Bach, with choir, orchestra and soloists.
There is also a food market, with menus for both adults and children, organized by Catering Service Hoogerbrug.
Evening program
8. Schubertiade. The day will be concluded in a very atmospheric way with choral works and instrumental works from the 19th century. Choirs, soloists, a clarinetist and a pianist provide this closing concert.
De St. Jan in Gouda is the location where we would like to be your host again. We have reserved the complete church with all outbuildings and halls for you.
