On 9 and 10 April 2015, Grubbenvorst will have its premiere through the rediscovery of the
Van Limburg Requiem
by Hans Lachman.
This REQUIEM was specially composed by the musician and composer Hans Lachman (originally from Berlin) out of gratitude to Pastor Vullinghs in Grubbenvorst. The latter personally ensured that the Lachman family (father, mother and son ) received hiding places in North Limburg, in particular Grubbenvorst, Broekhuizen and Sevenum , and therefore survived World War II.
Pastor Vullinghs paid for his commitment to the resistance with his own life.
The Grubbenvorster “Comité REQUIEM for Freedom” organizes the performance on April 9 and 10, 2015 in the Parish Church of Grubbenvorst in collaboration with Agnes Music Management from Gorinchem.
Attention will be paid to these implementations not only regionally but also nationally.
It will be a concert of great artistic quality by the professional orchestra Ars Musica under the direction of conductor Patrick van der Linden, various leading soloists and the very high level chamber choir Ars Musica.
The multi-media concert performance presents the Requiem in a broader context and thus guides the audience through the experience through the visual material shown.
