The Ars Musica Concert Choir sings again.
“After silence, that which comes closest to expressing the inexpressible is music.”
Aldous Huxley
After the silence, the Ars Musica Concert Choir sings and we think this is special. The choral works have been selected by conductor and artistic director Patrick van der Linden because of their inexhaustible ability to express the inexpressible. With pianist Wouter Harbers and violinists Heleen Knoop and Jeanine Melis.
According to the English-American writer Huxley, our reactions to beauty, ecstasy and pleasure, as well as suffering and death, are the most important components of our being. These reactions are first expressed through silence, and after silence through music.
We bring you Thomas Tallis, Eric Whitacre, Edward Elgar and Arvo Pärt, among others.
“Hope is my philosophy.”
The Sint-Joriskerk, in the heart of the historic city center of Amersfoort, can be a place where you find the silence. This Saturday evening we fill the space and light of the church with our singing and music. May it touch you.
