Workshop choral works with a solo instrument

October 8, 2018 @ 02:00

There are countless works for choir and orchestra.
Concerts for soloist and orchestra, of course. In the contemporary search for affordable repertoire for choirs, composers are also anticipating by creating works for choir with only one solo instrument. But this is not only an option for composers from a financial point of view; This is also an important fact from the point of view of timbre, text and originality. We study two of these works by composers who both died five years ago: Egil Hovland and John Tavener. Egil Hovland – Agnus Dei for mixed choir and bassoon
John Tavener – Svyati for mixed choir and cello

Reviews

"Patrick van der Linden is a very nice conductor to work with. He is very musical, and makes music in a very natural way, together with the musicians around him.
You notice that there is a good atmosphere during rehearsals and concerts, because he really seeks collaboration with his people. He also gives a lot of confidence to the musicians who work with him, which I find very pleasant."

Klaartje van Veldhoven, soprano June 16, 2022
